D: November 24, 1994 in Casa Grande, Pinal County, Arizona.
Bu:Cremated.  Ashes scattered in Evergreen Cemetery and Emmetsburg Country Club, 5th hole, in Emmetsburg, Palo Alto County, Iowa.

Children:
Susan Kay Ausland, February 3, 1939, who married (1) Gary Marshall Lockwood and (2) James Stanley Rollins.
Mary Kathryn Ausland, May 20, l943, who married (1) Kenneth R. Owens and (2) Raymond J. Allen.
Elizabeth Elaine Ausland, March 1, l947, who married (1) J.B. Hovis, (2) J.G. Hauser and (3) Dale W. Bennett.

Education:
Emmetsburg Public Schools including high school; Emmetsburg Junior College, 1932-33;  University of Wisconsin, 1933-34.

Migration:
Birth to death in Emmetsburg and Curlew, Iowa.  Wintered in Casa Grande, Arizona for 15 years.

Occupation: 
Worked in and owned lumberyards;  manufactured school reading tables.

Other Activities:
Bird hunting, golfing (club champion several times), mayor of Curlew for 24 years, president of PTA, and chair of board of trustees of Curlew United Methodist Church.  Also chaired several committees at the Emmetsburg United Church of Christ.  Enjoyed ballroom dancing and playing bridge.

Wife’s parents: 
Lloyd Gideon Long (1879 - 1975) and Grace A. Crosswait (August 9, 1882 - August 21, 1961) of Fonda, Iowa.

 

James Albert Ausland was the son of
Martin Ausland (May 25, 1866 – December 4, 1924) and
Una Lenore Ochsner Ausland (January 23, 1878 – January 28, 1955).
