Emmetsburg, Iowa, public schools, including high school, State College of Iowa (Cedar Falls, Iowa), University of Colorado at Denver (UCD) for Master’s Degree in Reading, plus additional courses required for teaching certificates.
Migration:
Katy moved, with her husband, Ken, to the Denver, Colorado area in 1964, where she still lives.

Elementary School teacher in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Northglenn, Colorado; Language Arts Coordinator and Title 1 Administrator in Northglenn, Colorado.
Other Activities:
Member of Colorado Chapter of International Reading Association, speaker on reading and writing practices in the elementary grades, adjunct professor for UCD, Area Coordinator of Neighbor to Neighbor program and Neighborhood Watch program, and many volunteer opportunities.
