James Levi Bailey (August 8, 1870 – February 29, 1956), who married Anna Elizabeth House (February 27, 1948).
Samuel Orwell Bailey (December 27, 1872 – November 23, 1945) who married Grace Simpson (June 22, 1881 - May 26, 1964).
Education:
District and Select schools of Windsor County, Vermont.
Migration:
In 1852, at the age of 22, Ransom Bailey and two brothers moved from Vermont to Ogle County, Illinois, where they began accumulating land and founded the town of Baileyville. In 1877 they moved to Grundy County, Iowa, and sometime after 1894 to Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Occupation:
Farming, animal husbandry, farm management and agricultural real estate.
Other Activities:
Although his attention was focused on his business efforts, Ransom Bailey was noted for his charitable interests, contributing to churches in Grundy, Black Hawk and other counties. Of him it was said that “no worthy movement is allowed to fail for want of [his] support.”
